Now that the festivities are over, we are beginning a new phase in our life together as Lutherans and Catholics working together.  Our joint worship services in 2017 were well attended and we were encouraged to continue these opportunities.  Our local Episcopal brothers and sisters joined with us in celebrating the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Brunswick on Sunday, Jan. 28. Shown in the photo below are Rev. Carolyn Ecklund, Rector of St. Paul’s; Rev. Canon Michael Ambler of the Episcopal Diocese of Maine; Father Thomas Murphy of All Saints Parish; Deacon Daniel Sheridan, Ecumenical Officer for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland; Rev. Bishop James Hazelwood, New England Synod of the ELCA. During March, St. Charles is hosting  a series of Lenten meals on Fridays at 5:00 pm to benefit local charities.  We are encouraging all to attend!   After Easter, All Saints Parish, Good Shepherd and St. Paul’s will be working together to host a series of meals and Bible Study on the topic of Caring for Creation.  Watch for more details in the near future.
