Good Shepherd Lutheran is a Congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) serving the greater Brunswick/Bath/Topsham Maine area. Originally a mission congregation established to serve the former Brunswick Naval Air Station and Topsham Radar Station, Good Shepherd has become a congregation that welcomes all people, values their gifts and life experiences, and invites them to become involved in our caring, compassionate community in Christ. Good Shepherd is committed to following the practices of our Synod’s “Doing What Matters” Initiative: being who you are, using the gifts and resources you have been given to do something that matters to God. All people are welcome here.
One of the gifts that God has given us is Partnerships. We are co-founders of Churches Working Together, a group of six local congregations of differing Christian traditions, who believe that our Christian witness is stronger when we cooperate in ministry. This partnership led us to help start Rejoicing Spirits. We partner with area non-profits to serve the poor and homeless, those with intellectual disabilities, and those who need low cost medical care. A small congregation with a big vision, Good Shepherd invites you to partner with us in God’s work. If you are interested in signing up to receive our church newsletter, or if you would like to receive more information about our congregation contact us or visit us on Facebook.
